About the School

Nativity: Faith & Reason is a Catholic Pre-K through 8th grade school in the Archdiocese of Denver, in the heart of Broomfield, CO. Built in 1963, Nativity seeks to educate children in the two methods of knowing: faith and reason. Faith, the initial way in which a child learns, is the focus of the lower grades. In a trusting relationship with teachers, students learn the truth and beauty of mathematics, science, literature, the arts, etc. The exercise of reason is the focus of our upper grades. We want to help students learn how to judge all that they learn and see, within and outside of the school. Ultimately, we strive to accompany the young—in age-appropriate methods—as they grow in relationship with God, themselves, and each other, and as they acquire skills and knowledge which will help them know the reality around them and to judge what is true, good, and beautiful.

The school has double rounds in every grade and serves over 400 students. Because we value the full formation of the human person, we offer a wide range of activities that include athletics, service opportunities, intellectual enrichment, and fine arts. Also, we know that excellence for our students is not receiving a certain grade, but becoming the best they can be. In order to best serve our students, we expect all of our teachers to offer a rigorous curriculum that pushes all students to their limits and simultaneously provide accommodations so that all students will learn.

We are committed as a school to offering a boldly Catholic education. In addition to Catechesis as a core subject, we make it a priority to bring faith into every subject through guiding students to see the truth, wonder, meaning, reason, and beauty that permeates every area of this universe. We make it a point to have weekly assemblies that are dedicated to build the clarity of our faith proposal, to build Catholic community and culture, and to form students in virtue.
